Half of Nature is at Night | Learning the Importance of Dark Sky Compliance

Bruce McMath, Chair of the Arkansas Natural Sky Assocaition, will discuss the many environmental impacts associated with the careless use of artificial light at night in the outdoor environment. These include the aesthetics and cultural impacts of losing visual access to the natural night sky in our daily lives, the role of wasted light in global warming, the biological impacts on wildlife and human health, and how we can mitigate these impacts by lighting responsibly.
